Celebrating our diversity

Last week we were fortunate to get to know each other and where we come from in our room.  We discovered that really, we are from all over the world.  The ethnicities in our room include Pakeha, Maori, Latin American, Niuean, Australian, Fijian, Chinese, Middle Eastern, South African and English. How lucky are we!  We can learn so much from each other.   The students got to bring in special backpacks to showcase something about themselves and things that are of significance to them.  It was special to see how passionate everyone was while sharing about their special culture- thanks to all the parents that came along too.
Ashworth talking about his family tree with a little
help from Mum Maree.
Izaria's turn to be the teacher.
Our Spanish girls.  Valeria talking about the Spanish flag.
